MFJ-1788 Super Hi-Q Loop Antenna for sale The antenna has never been used and therefore has not been outdoors; it looks brand new. After bringing it home, it and the control box (tuner box) were tested indoors with fantastic results, including a QSO with the USA. The antenna is completely independent of which radio you have (no control signals from the radio are needed), and power is supplied to the antenna through the coax cable. The control box can run on either a 220V mains adaptor or batteries installed inside the tuner box Some specifications: • Can be mounted vertically or horizontally, indoors or outdoors • The antenna covers continuously from 7MHz to 21MHz, so also the 40 – 30 – 20 – and 15M bands • On these bands, the SWR was measured at 1,5 or better with the antenna simply lying on a table only 80cm above GND (MFJ recommends a height of at least 6,5m); see also the SWR plots for the position mentioned above • The antenna is a magnetic loop antenna and therefore has a very narrow bandwidth, making it ideal for use in cities with a lot of electrical noise; the noise is quite simply attenuated by almost 100% • Maximum input power to the antenna 125W (due to the high Q, several KV are generated across the capacitor at 125W) Here is a link to the user manual for further information: https://manuals.repeater-builder.com/MFJ/MFJ-1788/MFJ-1788.pdf The following are included: • The loop antenna itself • Control box • 220V mains adaptor • Mounting brackets for horizontal and vertical mounting • Detailed manual and a schematic of the control box - OZ3DE
